Windows

Poem:

Whenever I see a window

open to light and air

and how amenable it is

to elements we share,

I think of certain principles

of virtue nonetheless,

directed toward windows

of souls we all possess.

True, gratifying openness

remain assured when we

look out an open window

to watch things moving free;

feast our eyes on sceneries

that Nature must portray

upon which our hearts get set

to cherish everyday,

which prompts me to reflect upon

the need to open, too,

built-in windows of our souls

to let good feelings through.
