Faith

Poem:

How often do we feel secure

In faith and its belief,

The more so when we feel unsure

Of finding some relief —

A firm conviction, plain and pure

That mitigates our grief.

Faith in ourselves alone —

In what we rightly do  —

Helps us tackle one by one,

Problems, old and new,

From which we find no real escape,

Yet faithfully get through.

Implicit faith in God above

Our mortal weakness here,

Based on Love and confidence,

Blunts the edge of fear,

As we perceive the openness

Of Love’s horizon clear.
