Oh, Dear, Dear God

Oh, Dear, Dear, God,
What does it take
For those to get
Their heaven here
While the weary old world
Seems to ignore
Mourning and tears;
One may wonder why
The wheels of affliction
Keep spinning and weaving,
Intended for those
Lamenting and grieving

Oh, Dear, Dear, God,
Why must it seem
There are those yet unborn
Doomed to be cursed,
While there are those
That appear to be blessed
Forever on earth?

Oh, Dear, Dear, God
Why must it be
That pain and affliction
Prevail with contradiction,
Appearing as if
Evil prevails over good
And good undone by evil?

Let this be a prayer,
Not mere questions unanswered,
For what is ordained
Can never be changed,
And the sets of life
Can never be rearranged.
